Stop your conciliating efforts to bring forth the voices from afar They're stuffed into your vacuum closed and cloned jar Is it too late? Is it time to call them up? Is it time? Pull away! Stop it now! These wires block all access To and fro amygdala! But I'm not here to spread the blame to anybody but myself Television teacher, I admire those days of color and lights Coherence and intuition were my long lost ways to decode the truth Decode this! Pull away! Stop it now! These wires block all access To and fro amygdala!

Let me get this straight... Are we going out tonight? Are we gonna use my money to make it through the night? Some may say you’re using me But it’s only up to me To give you all I own like I'm under your spell called being alive I'm brainwashed by design We’re gonna wreak the havoc on everybody inside But everybody outside is gonna dance around “Call me when you are bored I’ll be your shoulder to cry on Call me when you are bored But babe I'll drop the call!" But if you’re the type to jump the ship and leave I'm not gonna watch the ship burn away So what if I said to leave? Would I be the only guy To tell you all these things without your sway getting in the way? I’m gonna walk it off I’m gonna set the memories aflame And let you be your own shame Cause you could have had me to tame “Call me when you are bored I’ll be your shoulder to cry on Call me when you are bored But babe I'll drop the call!"
3.
I'm Not Sure 04:40
I'm not sure, I'm not quite aware of everything going on in my mind I'm not sure, I'm not quite impaired but if you keep doing what you do I'm not sure if you're gonna have it at all, have it at all Where are all the moments right now My father's stories take place from ages 17 to 23 And all I have are his and some of mine But they're slowly dying away along with the day "I'm not sure, I'm not quite impaired but if you keep doing what you do I'm not sure if you're gonna have it at all, have it at all" People laugh and people sing It's all the things I wannabe but I cannot find the way And sometimes I feel that I get too amused So I tone it down and turn the lights down!
4.
Falling Star 03:54
We are all just falling stars Ready to go, ready to fall I know the game, you know the play Plan it out, plan to kill Maybe this can, go on for days In the mire and in a daze “But I fall short to the planking chasm That you call brains, and I call death You are so dim, I’ll just Stick you to the socket and watch the light turn on” This is just a diplomatic plan to talk it out, to let you go But I still know who you really are A falling star, ready to go I think that I could use this detox To get you out, to bring me back “So when the engine dies out, I’ll just walk away And find my fix and find your perfect tricks But this highway feels like a spiraling imagine of Mine in hope someday the dark will die out” I’m gonna end you like a supernova You’re just a falling star, dragging me down in I’m gonna end you like a supernova Catch a plane to inter space again
5.
I don't wanna wait anymore Send a postcard and I'll be through the door You wanna live your life like a deserter on tour Fine, but you're not gonna see me anymore It's a tough guy act I gotta act like I don't care, but what if I really care about this one I'm freaking out So save me and reply "You're an actress Livin' it up on your own sunset boulevard You look so nice with all your white lies And I'm not going back to sunset!" You wanna make excuses for yourself That this is not right but you've had to know it by now Confessions at my own expense But make or break you won't ever hear them again It's a tough guy act I gotta act like I don't care, but what if I really care about this one I'm freaking out So save me and reply "You're an actress Livin' it up on your own sunset boulevard You look so nice with all your white lies And I'm not going back to sunset!"
6.
In the darkest moment, there's a light that shines so bright And by the radio is where I enjoy Sitting idly right I decided to stay in the room until the tunes die out But if I don't leave the notes will never mean a thing "If you want to explore You're gonna have to get over yourself And find new light On the streets in the tenderloin sack" I would like to take this room and make it into a collage of memory for you For when you sit, there' quietly crying It's your escape to let the moment pass tonight "If you want to explore You're gonna have to get over yourself And find new light On the streets in the tenderloin sack"
7.
Just when I thought the scar was mending You stopped all contact with no letter, no nothing Leave me here to figure you out And it's not happening because I got lost in the moment Now I'm neither here nor there Just waiting for you to come and help But you just left this idea "I need an instructions manual for your eyes I can't read it out! I can't read it now! I can't read it out! But you don't admit that you're Hangin me out to dry Just tell me you're not interested And I'll lost down the line Just tell me the hard truth and I will pickup the show Seems like you want me to sound Like a dying dog on the road "I need an instructions manual for your eyes I can't read it out! I can't read it now! I can't read it out!

about

Two Door Rev is the combined efforts of Sam Watroba (guitar/vocals), Jean Thorn (drums) and Josh Jacobs (bass). The band is a blend of punk and rock that brings an onslaught of energy on their recent self-titled release Two Door Rev. I love three-piece bands who can sound this full and I have to give it up to Matt Franklin who produced and engineered the album. The recording quality is exceptional and Franklin managed to capture the energy that the band has.

I have to admit this band surprised me with their unique delivery and inventive writing. Watroba doesn’t sound like every other singer out there and manages to throw in enough substantial guitar parts that I was never thinking they needed another layer of sound.

They bust right out of the gates with a killer song entitled “Conciliating Efforts.” The song is aggressive and spewing with jagged energy that will keep you at the edge of your seat. Watoba even delivers lyrics that require some thought and don’t feel contrived in any way. He sings, “Stop your conciliating efforts to bring forth the voices from afar They're stuffed into your vacuum closed and cloned jar Is it too late? Is it time to call them up? Is it time?” His voice almost melds with the guitar parts at times. Great stuff.

His opening lyrics on the second track “Call When You Are Bored” are hilarious. He sings, “Let me get this straight... Are we going out tonight? Are we gonna use my money to make it through the night?” They pound out some serious rock on “Falling Star” while “Sunset Boulevard” is another certified highlight. The band closes with “Hangin' Me Out To Dry” where Watroba sounds vaguely like Johnny Rotten.

My first thought when looking at their pics on their Bandcamp and Facebook page was that Two Door Rev was nothing more then a simplistic three-piece band that were probably still learning power chords. I couldn’t have been more wrong. These guys have some serious talent and I wouldn’t be surprised if they amass a serious fan base over the next couple of years.
